No, I haven't tried either of these so will have a go. I will assume that the Universal PS driver is downloadable from HP. If not would you mind pointing me in the right direction, please?
I will let you know how this pans out.
Thank you for your input.
Thank you,

This could be a corrupt print queue on your PC. The solution I have found to work in the past is 1> uninstall the printer 2> defrag the c: drive (so you don't create the new print queue over the previous one)and reinstall the printer.

Granville

Most, if not all, printers that have more than one input method will let you send prints to the different connections at the same time and then either queue them internally or send a busy signal to the external printer queues attached to all ports.

Opera does use the Windows print driver. However the print job arrives at the printer via a torturous route. The PMS generates the print from within Oracle, exports it to an Adobe PDF format then prints from there. The system only works with Adobe ver. 4.05, and “No” I don’t know why but I...
Hi,
I love Lexmark! I have had a 3200 for gwad knows how long and have had no problems with it. But it does have the issue of the cartridges costing as much, or more than, a new printer.
If I was going to buy for myself now I would most likely go for one of the HPs, model depending on my...
I have checked with the HP helpdesk on this, but they don't always know everything.
My problem - the business I work for is a 5 star hotel. The property management system (PMS) we run only allows for A4, letter or legal paper sizes. For a number of reasons our guest registration cards are A5...
I back Marvin on this. Unless your office is really small, 6 or less users, I would go with a stand alone print server (I happen to likke both HP JetDirect and Lexmark NetMark). Otherwise a printer with internal NIC.
At the very least use an old PC as a dedicated print server.
Ok, problem solved. The issue was between the Hp and and the Lexmark, although Netware MAY have contributed. I changed 3 setting on the printer and it works, the changes were under the "Parallel Menu":
"PS Smartswitch" from "Off" to "On"
"Protocal" from "Standard" to "Fastbytes"
"MAC Binary...
What networks OSes is the customer running?
I have printers shared between Netware, Unix and Win2k networks. This combo was staight forward and is secure, at least from Netware which is my most critical system.
HTH.
Ok, that does work but only to a point.
What I am hopeing to be able to do is identify which users are connected to what IP printers using the IP protocol, which only allows for print queues on the local PC, AFAIK.
Thanks,
I love the fact that IP printing takes a load off my servers and LAN. However, when I use a Netware print queue I can easily find out just what users have access to any print queue.
Is there any way I can do the same for an IP configured printer when the printer has an internal NIC and each...
No direct experience with either HP or Oki printers, but do have a varity of brands connected to my network.
In all cases, yes, the setup CD (wizard) will prompt you for a port. For the IP option check "Local port" but clear "Detect printer". On the next page select "Create a new Port" and...
Uh ho, I missed some vital info. My apologies.
I have 3 other T620 which work fine. Two are connected to local ports and one via an internal NIC. The print queue for the later is setup on the 4.11 server.
The printer I am having the problem with used to work fine when setup to print via a...
I found that if I map the drive I use for Office to the root of the Novell volume, then navigate to the required directory I have FEWER problems.
However this is a pain in the proverbial, and still rather flakey. If anyone has a proper fix, I would be ever so happy to hear it. Thanks.
Environment Netware 4.11 server, HP Jetdirect 300x external print server, Lexmark T620 laser with parallel connection and Windows98, 2000 or XP clients.
The problem – we are running DOS based applications which send print jobs to queues via captured local ports (LPTx:). When a job is sent to...
Careermind has a very good point and I will only add that, from experience, photography can be very hard to crack.
Many years later I now realise I was never anywhere near as good as I thought I was when trying to make it as a photo-journalist. Like all artistic career paths you need the...
