Thanks for the tip I appreciate it. I did however figure out what I was doing wrong, but it came out of a Que 3.4 book on Lotus 123. For some reason the Lotus information manual is not very clear on concatanation. Once again thanks for your help.

When I use the & and try to join text together as displayed in the help files I get the cells displayed as text. If I use just the & i get the text out of the cells, but they are joined together without a space between the words. If I try using parathensis i get ERR. what am I doing wrong. I...

    Lotus 123 Smartsuite (HELP)

I think the 2000 you refer to is the windows operating system software. Lotus does not come in versions like that. Lotus SmartSuite (which includes the suite of programs, Word Pro, Lotus 123, Approach, and a few others) ver 9.7 is fully compatible with windows editions before Windows XP, which...

    Lotus 123 Smartsuite (HELP)

Won't find anything free. Best hope is a friend or someone you know who has a copy, or perhaps eBay. Dan

    Lotus 123 Smartsuite (HELP)

First question. What version of SmartSuite are you looking for. The latest is ver 9.8 which is XP compatiable. There are web sites selling it anywhere from $19.00-$39.00. Earlier versions (97 & 96) can also be purchased. Dan

Lotusscript - simple 123 automation - getting started

You know I really don't know about that fancy smancy Lotus Script. But the following old Lotus macro commands using keystrokes and some simple advanced macro commands will get you the name of the range, provided there are no blank cells in this range, and there are no additional cells either...

    advanced macro commands

I have been using "backsolve" to calculate some engineering flow rates. I have columns about 25 rows deep. I am trying to backsolve for all of these cells. The macro I wrote simply goes down all 25 cells, backsolves and places the result in a cell next to them. The problem I have is backsolve...

LOTUS 123 script/macro tutorials or books

Just an update on training material. You are not going to find anything for Lotus much later than 1993-1994. Folks just didn't update information for Lotus after this period and you can rest assured Lotus did not. That leaves a pretty large hole with the advanced macro commands such as...

LOTUS 123 script/macro tutorials or books

If you have 123 96 (generally Smart Suite) that came on a CD, the Language Reference and Programmers Guide for Lotus Script is an extra and included on the disk. Macro help is also available, as well as the dialog editor. For the lotus macro language, there is not much out there short of...

    Interpolation of table data

Thanks Crazybird. Please send me what ever you have. I also use R5 especially if I am doing a large program and need the dialog editor. Anyhow, whatever you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dan Radebaugh

    Interpolation of table data

Excel has a add on function called interpRCT. This function takes numerical data from a group of rows and columns, and can interpolate the values in two dimensions. Does anyone know if there is a similar Lotus add in avialable, and if not a formula or clever @function will do. Thanks

    Macro Speed 123R5 vs 123R9

Go to the internet and search for "old software for sale",or "obslete software for sale". There are several companies selling old/obslete software, especially Lotus 123. I bought a CD version of SmartSuite 96 for $25.00 Good Luck

Copying and pasting text in Lotus 9.7

I am trying to copy text from one cell location and paste it at the end of text located in another cell. Now I can do this by using ctrl+c, then go to the other cell, F2 for edit, space then ctrl+v. This places the text at the location I have selected. When I try and write a macro for this it...

LOTUS 123 97 MACROS in Windows XP

I have written programs with Lotus 5.0 with Dialog Boxes and had only a few problems. For some reason, I cannot copy the dialog description table back to the dialog editor. Don't know why, but the program runs fine.
