    basic backup problem - scheduled jobs don't stick

    I had the same problem sept with dts packages would work when I ran them but if I shedualed them no luck. The problem was the sqlserver agent was not running as a domain acount. was set to a local nt account. I changes this in the service managager and works like a charm. Check event viewer...

    I think you can also make the package run as another user. Or even the app role account may work
