Hello all,
At the risk of asking something that's been covered extensively, I'm still having trouble with this one, and I hope you'll bear with me.
I have a Cisco 1231AP access point that I have configured with two SSID's, each pointing to a different VLAN (I'll be getting to the 3Com switch...
Yes, you're correct, I didn't assign ports 1 or 13, so it's still admin-able through those ports.
Good idea on the trunking, I didn't know that much about it when I started this, and it makes sense to do that, although I'm wondering, if I want to enable the trunking, and run all 3 vlans on...
I have 2 3Com 4200 28-port switches (Product #: 3C17304A) on which I'm trying to set up a few VLANS. I've outlined what, exactly, I need to do here: http://www.scornflake.com/examples/network.jpg
Basicly, my problem is that when I create, say vlan2 first, assign the ports to it, and connect...
actually, I did get it working, I ended up using a cat-5 patch cable, attached on each end to a db9 adapter.
plugged it up, worked like a champ.
hope this helps
Yes the FTP server on machine ip 1.6 is set to listen on port 88. Also, I have since discovered that like ftp servers on port 21 where you have to open ports 20 and 21 on a router, the system is whichever port you choose to have the FTP server running on, you need to open that port as well as...
I should have specified, the traffic for the second FTP server (that traffic which should be going to 1.6) is on port 88. the clients attemppting to connect to this second ftp have configured their ftp clients to use port 88 when connecting to this particular FTP server
Hello everyone...here's a fun one...
I'm running a small network connected to the outside world via cable modem. all traffic passes through a linksys firewall/router. I'm currently running an ftp site on machine 1.3, using port 21. I have opened ports 20 and 21 and forwarded them to machine...
I've tried ctrl-everything and nothing changes the screen at all. I've used a number of different straight through cables, as well as a crossover (I was desperate)
is there anything especially different about a Nortel (brand) cable?

Update::
I've had our network guy look at it, and he determined the comm is either turned off, or not functioning. (apparently this is a feature on cisco switches, but he was unsure about nortel/bay stuff)
so...
is anyone aware if this IS a possibility? (to turn of the comm)
and is there a...
I've recently acquired a 350t-hd, and have thus far been unable to access the CI screen. I've setup a hyperterminal session to use com1 at 9600 8-none-1 vt100, and all I get is a blank screen??
ithe manual says to type ctrl-C to get the logon prompt, but I get nothing. no errors, so nothing...
