    Check the "all logs entries" from the gui and see if it gives you more details. It sounds like a read error, possibly due to blocksize. You may also want to check the micro code for the tape drive. Be warned however, if you update firmware you may not be able to restore from the tape...

    How do you extract multiple tar files from tape without having to use the mt -f /dev/rmt/# fsf 1,2,etc., or by using the /dev/rmt/#n, and having to restart the tar xvf multiple times.

    Howdo you total the file size field from tar tvf output to verify the backup size is the same as the restored size? Thanks.
