This problem often happens if the client has "Word" as their email editor. In email, click on "message" then look to see if "Use Word as your email editor" is enabled. Just turn it off and the hyperlinks should be enabled.
I don't know whether you have Internet mail or a mail server, but if you have a Telephone Number to dial into,
you can try creating a Hyperterminal Dial Up connection and create an Icon on the desktop for it, then use Profile Editor to block the internet.
