I know your frustration. I have a wireless USB adapter that gets the same 0.0.0.0 with Win 2000 pro. It only works if you re-install it everytime you boot. The same adapter works flawless on Win 98 & XP. I hope you find a solution.

You can use a Win98 boot disk for a clean boot and run format, unless you are using NTFS. In that case you can run fdisk.exe and wipe the non-dos partition. Reboot and then format.
