Unplug from the power. Remove the battery for about a minute. Then plug the battery back in and plug the power back in as well. Then turn it on. Sounds like it is in suspend or hibernation Thanks, Todd

Turn it off, unplug the power from the wall, and remove the battery. Leave the battery out for about 1 minute. Replace battery and plug power back in, try again. COuld be in suspend mode. Thanks, Todd

As a test to rule out it being a faulty modem. Set up a new dial up connection and put in a phone number like another house line, or your mobile phone number. If it rings, your modem is fine and it is an ISP error.
If not, then remove the modem and let the machine install it again when u go to...
you could try net send. open up command prompt, to send to all staff type in :
net send * Server reboot in 5 minutes

go to the file server and on my computer, right click and go to manage/shared folders/open files. Browse through here and see if you can see the problem file where the network is holding a connection to it by a user. Make sure the user is not actually using the file, then right click and close...
try saving to the local drive before opening.

r u using the corporate install of outlook. there should be tools up on the top list? if not, right click on the toolbar and hit customize. goto the commands tab and make sure tools is in the categories folder. then, u might need to restart outlook, and go tools/ options and per my instructions...
I had this problem a while ago, and I dont think it can be done. I think, from memory, you need to restore the whole public folder listing and then go thru and extract the folder u were after. This is usually a good lesson for users. When in doubt, kick 'er in the guts
