    The XP firewall is not running. Mine is the Pro version, don't know if that makes any difference.

    Thank you for replying. smah I'm running ZoneAlarm, but i did set it to allow ping.exe to go through from the local machines. Do i have to do something else? vicvys I noticed that i do not have NetBEUI installed. If all else fails, i'll give it a try.
