Any good clientless VPN solutions either free or Open Source

Sorry for late reply. What I mean by clientless is VPN/SSL like the Baracuda solution. It would use a web browser to access the VPN server and no client install needed on Windows machines (or any OS). A number of companies make a solution that cost big$ looking for a small business one that is...

Any good clientless VPN solutions either free or Open Source

Besides SSH Explorer. I know Baracuda took over that software from Open Source and there is a similar fork. But I was wondering if anyone has a good VPN SSL OpenSource solution. Alos, I realize there are MANY commercial solutions, not looking in that space.

Asterisk concuming 400% of the CPU

Any wierd error messages in the CLI ? I've seen bad USB ports or NIC interfaces cause lots of error messages and that drive up CPU use. Did you look at the syslogd to see if any errors or the Asterisk log files during these peak cpu use times ?

Cisco SPA504G any last ditch efforts?

Dan you got that right! The J3 header on the board looks like a serial interface. GND +3.3V and tx rx pins. When the phone boots I hooked a scope on there and it is sending data on the tx pin. I tries a TTL serial converter with hyper terminal and no dice. I think the eeprom being secure...

    IDA019L1

Or you can try adding a BUFNI=10 and BUFDND=20 to the JCL for the VSAM dataset in question. Or code the BUFFERSPACE par on the IDCAMS define. (Using enough for 10 index and 20 data buffers). I have worked on mainframes for over 30 years and this is a great starting point to tweak the I/O...

Cisco SPA504G any last ditch efforts?

Update... I was able to gain access to the browser interface by turning off the VLAN. I can now PING the device. The Cisco recovery utility does not recognize the device by either serial# or FFFFFFFFFFFF - of course the phone is not in SOS mode. The firmware update utility still prompts for...

Are IT People trying to take your clients away form you?

Quite a lively discussion here. Well I thought I'd chime in. I too am an IT guy. I am not trying to steal away any clients from the old timers. But if one of my clients asks the right solution from a future and cost perspective, I will recommend SIP and Voip solutions. Its just a matter of...

Cisco SPA504G any last ditch efforts?

I have one SPA504G that I cannot do a factory reset (via phone menu) due to not having the Admin password. I have searched on Google and other sites and there is the hack of trying to "provision" the phone via TFTP and either a password XML file or the Default config.xml - I tried this and...

possible to use TLS to encrypt desktop connections?

unmanaged switch with mini-gbic and gigabit fiber tranceivers

Hey Jimbo thanks for that quick reply! I really thought STP was built into most switches these days. But I guess not :( I can always do a manual swap of the ports for now. Next time to upgrade these I will either get a managed switch or one with STP. Are there any low cost gigabit switches...

unmanaged switch with mini-gbic and gigabit fiber tranceivers

Some details on the Zyxel switch: Inactive link detection. The inactive link detection function automatically reduces power usage when inactive links or devices are detected. The ZyXEL GS1100 Series can adjust power consumption according to link status and the number of active network devices...

unmanaged switch with mini-gbic and gigabit fiber tranceivers

I have 2 Zyxel gs-1100-24 with 2 gbic ports. When I hook the gbic up along with the transceivers they light up appear to work and then shortly thereafter turn off. Is that a power save feature of the 802.113az ? If I disconnect the transceiver it does not light backup and start working. I...

    SIP Port Issue

OK I had similar problem with one carrier I setup a month ago, maybe this will help. I added: Externip=n.n.n.n <--- your public IP address (tells * to pass this address in packets outbound) localnet=192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 <--Replace with your local subnet address and...

possible to overide the DID context ?

OK was able to get this working but only by updating /etc/asterisk/extensions_additional.conf - this of course will get overlaid by FreePBX when I change something. How can I override an IVR that was built. I tried adding to extension_custom.conf but it does not take. Is there a special file...

possible to overide the DID context ?

    Transfer calls to Merlin

Nice. Are you using VMware or VirtualBox ? I've played a bit with VirtualBox and it works nice and the price is right (free). I think VMWare is free for personal use too. The only hypervisor with bare metal (at this time, I believe) is VMWare... Thanks for the tips. I should get another...

    Transfer calls to Merlin

Thanks for the quick reply. I did this and found out that 770 is for a bulletin board ??? and 777 is the VM. Once I set the call group for 777 to include the 807 it worked a treat. I then did a PRINT of the calling groups and it showed 777 with Covering of 30 with all the lines. What is a...
