Thank you gentleman. I apologize for the vagueness of my question, but this is so new to me, I don't even know how to phrase my question properly! The links to the free online tutorials and the FAQ (oops, I should have looked there, sorry.) will be VERY useful, thank you for the suggestions...
My job has a client that is going from an Excel spreadsheet means of sharing information to using XML. I'd like to learn more about XML, but am very new to programming. What book would you guys recommend as a good way to learn the basics of XML, and are there some pre-requisite books I should...
Hello all!
Do any of you gurus know a FAQ somewhere that will help a coworker of mine figure out if her child has been using her pc to surf inappropriate sites? I could tell her to check her cookies and History, but I was wondering if there was more I could be telling her.
Much thanks

Thank your for the link, I will try it when I return home from work. Looking over it briefly, however, I'm not sure if this FAQ applies to me. I didn't clean up an existing OS and lose my connectivity. I basically wiped out the entire system and reinstalled a new one from the...

I’m hoping someone will be able to point me in the right direction o this problem. The above system had windows ME installed on it, and it connected fine to the internet via...
AH HA! I figured out the solution, albeit not the exact problem. I flashed the BIOS to the latest version, and 'voila!' - the mouse is active in Win 2K. Go figure....
thanks for the help!

It's a ps2 mouse. I took an image of the 98SE OS using Ghost before I upgraded it (whew!) and wouldn't you know it, the mouse works fine after I installed the image. This makes me believe it's a mouse driver issue, but Mouse drivers are so generic, I don't even know where I would find one!
Symptoms: Upon booting up the computer (OS is Win 2k) my mouse is totally unresponsive. However, when I unplug the mouse and plug it back in (while the pc is still on, mind you) it works again!
Now here is my confusion. This machine, a HP Pavilion 6630, used to have Windows 98SE and the mouse...
Hello folks!
I did a quick search for this on the forum but didn't find anything definitive. I have a 40GB hard drive, partitioned into 3 sections. Drive 'c' has Windows 98SE, drive 'd' has Win2K Pro, and drive 'e' has Win XP Pro. Now my problem is, I want to get rid of the Windows 98SE...
By dead I mean it's making that evil 'click click click' sound when the PC powers up. It was a single hard drive in a fairly standard PC, so I know it used to work at one time. BIOS won't recognize it now, have tried multiple boot, attached as a slave to working PC's, no dice. I've seen this...
Is there anyway I can find out if my somewhat older Abit kt7a motherboard (link to specs - http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/techspec.php?categories=1&model=88) will support a large 200GB hard drive? I'd like to know if I'll need to upgrade my MB before I go and purchase the hard drive, as I...
After years of reaching into sometimes cramped PC cases, I've given some thought to making my own 'test bed', where I have everything spread out and open, perhaps on some sort of non conductive material, just so I can have lots of room to install and uninstall test components as needed. Has...
