    i double checked and both the .htaccess file and the .htpasswd file are in the protected directory.

    Here is the problem.. i made my htpasswd in the protected directory.. i left the .htaccess file in the root of my htdocs folder... but i get this error after entering my password. I typed in the correct password... and it denied me is there anything i maybe doing wrong? here is the error...

    you should sign up with a dns client i use dyndns.org then uninstall apache... then redo the installation with your dns address... and add your email ... as the admin's email... then reply back to us...

    Im using win xp pro and i am using apache 1.3.7.. i have no problem running my website... i might have all my files wrong i have all my .html files under the folder "htdocs" and it seems to work fine. I have another directory called "gallery" and the contents of that folder...
