I was able to make the .htaccess file and there where no errors in the htpasswd file the user name is right and the password is encrypted... do i need to configure a file like httpd.conf ?? thanks scotty

i double checked and both the .htaccess file and the .htpasswd file are in the protected directory.

Here is the problem.. i made my htpasswd in the protected directory.. i left the .htaccess file in the root of my htdocs folder... but i get this error after entering my password. I typed in the correct password... and it denied me is there anything i maybe doing wrong? here is the error...

you should sign up with a dns client i use dyndns.org then uninstall apache... then redo the installation with your dns address... and add your email ... as the admin's email... then reply back to us...
