I was able to make the .htaccess file and there where no errors in the htpasswd file the user name is right and the password is encrypted... do i need to configure a file like httpd.conf ??

Here is the problem.. i made my htpasswd in the protected directory.. i left the .htaccess file in the root of my htdocs folder... but i get this error after entering my password.
I typed in the correct password... and it denied me is there anything i maybe doing wrong?

you should sign up with a dns client i use dyndns.org then uninstall apache... then redo the installation with your dns address... and add your email ... as the admin's email... then reply back to us...
where do i type all this info at im in the c:\Documents and settings\username directory... is there any way.. because i have tried all those lines and it doesnt work..
