    Nesting JS. Nearly there, but....

OK. My bad. It's there now. And the call works, but the scrollers still don't. G

    Nesting JS. Nearly there, but....

OK. Step by step. 1: on my laptop, glyre.html is calling detect.js (there's a js alert). at http://www.spiky-girl.co.uk/glyre.html doesn't even call detect.js correctly. So that's the first query. 2: Even when it DOES call the detect.js on my local machine, the scroller doesn't scroll, AND...

Look. Leave this for now. I've just checked it and its a disaster site. I'll post when I've tidied it up a bit. SORRY G

    Nesting JS. Nearly there, but....

This is a follow-on from a previously raised thread here: http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1669812 but the problem has moved on so much that the original title would have been misleading. My problem: This site (www.spiky-girl.co.uk) is a promotion site for a book. The site graphic...

:hover (the very simplest implimentation) not working

OK. www.spiky-girl.co.uk/cast.html www.spiky-girl.co.uk/sg.css I have the simplest a:hover, just a text colour swap on mouse over. Any idea why it's not working? I don't think this could be simpler, actually, but its driving me nuts. G

Mystery. Javascript and css working on one page and not on another.

OK. For all you js aficianados, this is probably self-explanatory. But for ME, it's been helpful, timely, and EXACTLT what I needed. Thanks, Feherke Starred, even though it's probably easy for all you experts. I thank Feherke, and star this post!

Mystery. Javascript and css working on one page and not on another.

Well, tbh, the reason is I only dabble in js, and am not as up on it as I should be. Thanks for the full answer. I'm guessing "Call addScrollers() at the end of body without using an event handler." would be simplest. I had addscrollers in the front.js file, as well, from an earlier...

Mystery. Javascript and css working on one page and not on another.

www.spiky-girl.co.uk OK. The story so far. I'm trying some fancy moves for hiding and revealing a scrolling div, using DW CS5. It works on www.spiky-girl.co.uk/test.html The scroller is under a couple of other divs, and it all works OK. (This is just a test - the page won't look like that in...

    spacing between CSS elements

    I think the problem is that you've embedded a <p> in the larger font inherent in the logisticsheader class. Try <div class="logisticsheader">Logistical Savings</div> <div class="logisticsinfo">Incremental Spend<br />Avoidance and Reduction<br />Cost Savings<br /></div> <div...

Video compression codecs not working on Windows 7

Turk. Thanks. Great tip, but WMP certainly thinks the codecs are installed. on the other hand, it's concentrating on playback codecs, not encoding codecs, if that makes sense. linney. I only installed the codec pack, because the proprietory Divx codec didn't install - or, at least, wasn't...

Video compression codecs not working on Windows 7

Thanks for the heads up. Sadly, that's one I've already installed :( Thinking, I'm wondering if somehow my programs are looking in the wrong place for the codecs. That they've been installed, but soehow in the wrong place. (Sounds silly, I expect, but I've installed/re-installed W7 a couple...

Video compression codecs not working on Windows 7

Hi. I run Windows 7 Home on a Dell Inspiron 1720, with an intel core 2 duo processor. It originally had Vista onboard, but I've clean loaded W7, and all in all I'm very happy with it. My problem has to do with video processing. Whatever software I use to process video files (Powerdirector...

External hard drive damaged since chkdisc

Hey, thanks for that. Tried GetDataBack for NTFS, and most of the data seems to be fine. NOW all I need is another drive to put the files on, and I'm winning :) G

External hard drive damaged since chkdisc

I run W7 on a laptop, and have an external (externally powered, not USB powered) SATA hard drive for backup connected by USB2 cable. A few days ago, on connecting, Windows kept suggesting I check the drive, as in "D'you want it checked, or shall we just leave it" - I've forgotten the actual...

    Outlook pst may be corrupt

OK. Well, bingo, really It took a while (320MB hd) but the onoy disc flaw was in the outlook.pst file. Running scanpst, and crossing my fingures. Thanks for all the help, guys Much appreciated!

    Outlook pst may be corrupt

Ran chkdsk at its most basic, as in not checking bad sectors, and it reported nothing. Should I try it with bad sector recovery on?

    Outlook pst may be corrupt

OK. 1: created with 2003 2: about 450k 3: I can delete files, yes, though since a windows and 2010 reinstall I can't access at all without importing, and it won't import 4: scanpst fails 7% into phase 1 It tells me to check the disc (I HAVE) and then rerun 5: Make a Backup? I wish I could...
