We have Veritas Netbackup 4.5v and we have been trying to backup a directory of about 475Gb and we also see a du -s showing to be 720GB. First I can't understand why has is showing up as double compared to an ls -al on a Solaris 8 system.

I was told to keep paging space to the very same size as the one on hdisk0 such as 512Mb and subsequently 512Mb on other hdisks. If it becomes larger than this, you will have disk thrashing. The memory is quite enough now. Besides you don't have disk thrashing, but adding more memory can help...
I have created a test fiie and copied the code into it. I will test it later, I wanted to check the LCD if that would come up with an error code. I hope it doesn't corrupt any process or add more overheads.
