Existing 110 block with line1(phone) and line2(fax) wired with premise cabling.
Need to add a wall jack about 2' next to the 110 panel.
I plan on using a 2' piece of cat5 and the blue/whiteblue pair. Just need to know where to put the blue/whiteblue pair on the block.
Thanks in advance.
actually".... Crucial.com has done a good job in making this kind of info available.

Intel® Desktop Board D815EEA/D815EPEA was the board in question. The ram did work in a newer board so I guess it was a compatibility problem. thanks for all the replies.
the intel mobo manual says max. ram is 512mb.
If I install a single 512mb chip (which was pulled from a working pc I'm told) all i get is three beeps.
I've seen on some computers where the boot screen shows more ram than what is actually installed. could it be that this mobo is seeing more than...
Cam commerce has a free version of it's Retail Star program dubbed Retail Ice. Single Pc, Single Store only. Supposedly free tech support and there is a bulletin board too. All you pay for is shipping for the software (and manuals if you want them). Updates get charged for shipping as well...
what I am trying to describe looks the same as when you are watching satellite tv and a bunch of tiny squares come on the screen when the reception is poor.
Is there a proper term to describe this?
Thanks in advance.
I am changing a 16port 10/100 HUB to a switch. I mean like for 120cdn dollars I can get an ASUS 24port MANAGED switch. Am I wise in going with a relatively new brand for network "switches" or should I stick with a 3com brand. Of course the 3com I have in mind is not managed.
Thank you.
no luck at hardware group so I'll try posting here.
i am doing this in a batch file before starting the pos program
mode com1:96,n,8,1,p
mode lpt1:=com1:
I can print once or twice but after that it goes back to garbage.
xp pro
dos program runs full screen.
I'll try it in a window for a while...
the pos program has a receipt setup part to it.
at the end of the receipt I put in a 27 105 code for cutting the paper. Is this screwing things up? we shall see.
tried running msconfig and add Com1AutoAssign=0 to the [386enh] section with no success.
Any suggestions? The printer is at a remote location so not much I can do from here.

Not sure I understand but there is the connector to the mobo...then up about 12" another connector... an old tape drive connector(had to scrummage through my old box of cables)... the twist then another connector that plugs into the floppy drive. So I guess it's working "after" the twist...
The cut floppy is 8.5" from connector to connector. I used the twisted end at the drive end. It's a clean cut so no wires are crossed. Heck I used the floppy drive to ghost the hard drive and preinstall xp pro and flash the bios so it's gotta be a new xp thang. Thanks
A guy we know used to cut the floppy cable for a neater install. I've done it a few times myself. I don't know if this is an xp thing or a mobo/floppy drive/xp thing but I cant read or write to the floppy drive under xp. I put in an uncut floppy cable and all is working now. And yes... pin 1...
Thank you for replying.
I did read that earlier but my concern when reading it was,
the device in question is a zip drive...not a cdrom. Will it work just the same?
Regards
sorry about asking about home edition but is xp power tools the only way to disable autoinsert using home edition? my dos program users are getting booted out (minimized) when they insert a zip backup disk. i got them holding the shift key down for now.
