I have a few scripts that use the Windows FTP client. These scripts are run from the command line. I can connect to the FTP site and login, but I cannot get a directory listing, it just hangs. I know it must be a PIX issue as I have tried the same on a pipe without the PIX and all is well. I...

I have a PE1750 with 2 36GB drives. The very first thing I did was to boot the server to the Server Assistant CD and off through the wizard I went. I chose Raid 1 and then when it prompted me for disk size (or something like that) I entered 6GB. Then the wizard completed, asked for the...

Setting up Dell Servers for W2003 Server Please Help

One more question. I set up the PE1650 with Raid 1, but Windows 2003 does not see it, it only sees the 6GB partition. When I went into Disk Management, the rest of the space is unalloctaed. So what I did was format it to NTFS. Do I have to setup the mirror in Windows disk management also?

Shuting down computers loged onto network

You can do this but you will need a third party tool. One that I use is ps tools: http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/pstools.shtml This is a suite of tools for remote admin, and the one that you would want to use is psshutdown. You can add all your computer names to a file and then...

    Group policy Restrictions C:\program Files

Can you allow them full control only to the folder(s) that they need to write to? Are all these users in a group? If not I would add them to a group and give the group either read/write perms or full control perms on the folders that they need to write to.

Adding a third.level.machine name to Windows 2000 DNS

Thanks for the replies. What I am trying to do is to add this record to dns, this domain is outside of my domain. Currently I need to place a hosts file entry so that clients can resolve the name, but I want to use DNS. Can I still create a zone even though its outside my domain?
