Is there any way of copying users from one domain to another.
Oh, and the new domain has a Small Business Server as DC
Thanks,

I'd like to copy the Active Directory from one DC in one domain to an SBS machine on another Domain.
I was going to attempt to do this manually but there are 25 users with loads of local settings and mapped stuff so it is looking like a bit of a nightmare.
Anyway, I found some info about the...
Thanks,
Any suggestions for a third party calendar sharing product?
Also the client only has one server so it would be a matter of installing SBS on top of Server 2003, which I'm guessing isn't possible.

I have a client with a network of around 10 users and a 2003 server. He wants to be able to share outlook calendars, the only way I've found to do this effectively is using Exchange.
However, the pricing of Exchange makes it a less than attractive so I was wondering about SBS.
So 2 questions...
Can anyone confirm this? I know there are instructions on how to add an SBS server to an existing domain but I wasn't sure if you then had to demote the existing DC.
Thanks

Any sugestions?
I've tried every option in the POP3 Connector settings and still no luck.
It just doesn't seem to work. Is this a known issue?
Help!!

I've just set up Small Business Server for a company I do some work for and thought it'd be nice to set up Exchange server for them as I heard it was easier now.
Anyway, knowing nothing about Exchange, I've managed to set up a global mailbox using the POP3 connector and set up mailboxes for all...
Just giving my experience.
Having been installing service packs for the past 3 years I've never had a problem before and now 3 in a week - IMHO this suggests a problem.
Also the uninstall has failed for all of these cases.
I presume it's fine on most of my client's PCs as I haven't had any...
I know this is the XP Pro forum but as the XP home roll out of SP2 has happened and there isn't an XP home forum I thought I'd mention my experiences.
So far I've seen SP2 completely wreck three different machines including my own.
2 of the machines were AMD based, had no previous issues with...
Hi
Could anybody tell me the names of any good (commercial or freeware) POP3 mail distribution apps (if this is the correct term!)
I need something that can take mail from the catchall POP3 account and distribute it locally according to the name it was sent to.
Other features that would be...
Firstly am I right to think Exchange can handle mail from a "catchall" account on a remote POP3 server and then distribute it amongst a workgroup by name?
If so could somebody either point me at a very simple set of instructions on how to do this or tell me where I would need to start looking in...
Hi
I'm sure this is a really obvious easy one but I don't have the knowledge to work it out.
My LAN is on the usual 192.168.1.x range and I'm getting an awful lot of these errors:-
The ISA Server services cannot create a packet filter 64.4.48.250. This event occurs when there is a conflict...
Hi
Could anybody give me some advice/tips on moving an NT over to 2K using a new server.
My plan is to set the new server up and promote it to a domain controller for the existing domain. I presume it will then happily work along side the old NT serverwhich I can then demote if I need to (how...
Thanks for all the suggestions. I've got it working via Computer Management console but this is a bit clunky.
I'll have a look at running rconsole

Hi
I read there was a way of sharing calendars on Outlook 2000 but the same instructions don't seem to apply to Outlook XP.
Is there a way I can share users calendars on a network without using Exchange server?
Thanks in advance
Chris

Hi
I was wondering if there was a way of restarting a service on a remote machine using something like the NET command and if so how?
At the moment I'm having to log on through terminal services every time I want to restart a service. Problem with this is a) It takes too long and b) I can't...
