From the Emulex tech support:
The main difference is how they are layered in the OS. The layering is as follows:
Storport Miniport (W2k3 only)
=======================
MS Class drivers
MS Storport driver
Emulex Storport mini port
HBA
Driver discovers target devices only. LUNs are discovered...
Emulex offers storport miniport, scsiport miniport and FCport drivers for the same HBA (this is a fibre card).
I need to know what are the difference between them in order to install the correct driver.
thanks in advance
TP
Does anyone know what the difference between the EMULEX HBA storport miniport, scsiport miniport and FC port drivers are?
When does one use one over the other?
thanks a lot

Does anyone know how to DEFINITIVELY tell if SP1 is installed on a machine?
The admin says it is not installed, but I am inclined not to believe him.
I checked the MS site, but they don’t mention if the build number changes (or what it should change to) after SP1 was installed.
The Event...
BTW - I am using the WAN port on the Linksys for the uplink.
That was the only way to get the phone working. However, using the configuration above, I am also able to access the internet using a computer plugged in the LAN port of the Linksys...

Well folks - it would seem that I have found a working configuration. Some of the settings I used, go against some of the adviced suggested here and in other posts. This could be due to my unique combination of SMC / Linksys.
Please take this post "as is".
SMC
WAN: DHCP (gets IP from modem...
Gartm -
I followed the instructions from this link
http://blog.kevindonahue.com/archives/2004/12/connect_linksys_rt31.php
but unfortunately it did not work for me.
When I use a LAN port for the uplink, the phone client cannot connect to the vonage server.
Let me know how you made out, if you...
Bcastner -
the problem I ran into using the setup you described is that the PHONE connection on the Linksys will no longer work.
I looked as if the phone can connect to the Vonage server ONLY using the WAN port.
This particular Linksys does not have a dedicated uplink port, hence I used a cross...
Thanks for the post Gartm. That is not a bad idea: configuring the liksys statically using the info from the internet facing router. The instructions dont clearly state, but from what I gather, the guy is using the LAN ports for the uplink, which is a little counter intuitive since I would...
Techie -
everything you said is correct except the conclusion -
it DOES NOT work.
I tried the "data over voice prefference" scenario above. Here is the layout

SMC (No DHCP)

Linksys (Static IP, No NAT, No DHCP)

Hey Kameleon -
as I said before, having the Linksys first does not really do it for me due to the layout of the house. I would have to walk up a flight of stairs every time the phone rings.
Locman -
make sure you log into the Linksys and check that the router is connected to the server (there...
Hey Techie -
the problem (and the reason) why I dont want to switch the Linksys with the SMC is that the SMC is upstairs and I dont want to run for the phone every time it rings.
I know there are options for this problem - like buying a phone with another base - but you know what?? I really...
Yes i did...cross over from ethernet port on router 1 to ethernet port on router 2. The internet connection worked but the phone did not :(
any thoughts on the routing table configuration?
Hey ironwill -
here is what their knowledge base article says:
"The above configuration (cascading two routers) effectively creates two different networks (192.168.15.0 and 192.168.1.0) that cannot be routed together due to WAN/LAN separation. Computers or devices connected to the RT31P2 (2)’s...
Hey everyone -
I bought this device from Vonage in order to do VOIP. I already had a router from SMC so I wanted to plug the RT31P2 into an existing port on the SMC.
Well - the phone works OK, but computers plugged in the Linksys cannot access the internet.
Does anyone know how to configure...
I think you might be able to do so, given that the tape drive that you used for AS9 is supported by AS2000...also you should restore to the same platform from where it was backed up - i.e. unix, nw, or sql, exchange agents if applicable...NAS wont be supported because AS2000 did not support NAS...
You are trying to restore the wrong type of files for that platform (i.e. unix/nw files on Windows). Could that be the case? Do you know what is on the tape and where it came from? Did you try to restore it to the original location?
cheers
TP
I think you problem is more in terms of the number of drives you are using. Each VLO requires one drive, which means right there you cannot have RAID in neither of the two VLOs.
Get rid of the VLO and you should be able to use the RAID option
cheers

your tape engine is GP-ing and you need to find out why.
I would recomend to open a ticket with CA and let them look in the drWtson logs.
In the mean time, you can try to play with your environment and see where the incompatibility is with the tape engine. Do you have anything else...
Well - how are you creating the backup job?
Wizzard or backup manager? Is your job engine shuting down (goes red)? Are you getting any messages in the Activity Log?
