Oracle
Hi udhay , varchar and varchar2 are the same but varchar is being retired from Oracle 8i onwards. From Oracle 9i and above varchar2 will be used. I am not sure whether varchar is being used in Oracle 8i but definitely not in Oracle 9i.- Krits
