Ok this is a good one -
I am running an Athlon K7-600 with and NVidia TNT2 32 MB vid card (everything else has been removed to eliminate variables)
The machine boots up with no problem.
When I attempt to restart, I get a black screen. This screen will stay there for 2 days if you do nothing...
Ok, thanks to SiNSystems, I found the "Hotkey Utility" and "Sony Utilities Library" on the recovery cd. I've also executed the install for both of these utilities. However, despite what the installation shield says about the successful install, the hotkey still do not work...
Hmm, unfortunately, these drivers seem to be for AMD based machines. Mine is a Pentium. Also, this site makes no mention of keyboard drivers, from what I saw.
I've tried exploring the driver recovery cd supplied by Sony. There is no keyboard driver on the cd. Also, there is no keyboard driver online at Sony Support.
The only way it seems to install is by using the Sony Application recovery cd, which re-images the entire machine, which is obviously...
I've just reformatted my Sony Vaio and installed Windows XP pro. How do I reinstall the software for the shortcut keyboard controls (sound, brightness etc)? I only have the system recovery disk that came with the machine, which will reinstall a whole image (which I dont want to do)
I'm installing windows XP to a machine with and ECS k7s5a (AMI BIOS,01-12-02 release), an Athlon thunderbird and an IBM Deskstar HDD.
The problem is that during several attempts to install, I am notified that several fails fail to copy...they are sometimes different, but most commonly...
Thanks guys! With the help of HiJack This, I went through and deleted the hijacked hosts and everything is back to normal. Apparently the virus was removed from the computer, and thats why it wasn't detected - but the settings obviously did not revert. Way to go guys, you never fail me!
Unfortunately, that Qhosts Fix did not detect the virus. This is the HiJack This Log run after teh Qhosts Fix.

OK, I ran Hijack This, and this is the log I got:

An interesting problem here...
I have a windows 2000 sp4 laptop with IE6. I can cruise the net with no problem, however, whenever I try to use a search engine (any search engine - yahoo, google, etc), the search instantly returns a "This page cannot be found" error.
Any ideas?
Ok I've downloaded this software - looks good. I've created a datamatrix code, and I've been asked to the code to someone who is going to attempt a differnt way of printing it. Is there any way to export the image? I haven't been able to figure it out. The person printing will be using...
Since this is development work, I haven't yet purchased a 2D font. I've been using a datamatrix generator at idautomation, and inserting the .jpg. of that image into a word document and printing from there.
