I have seen this as a problem with Access and ODBC connectivity.
Try to connect to the same tables via Excel and you will not see the #DELETED# error.

Inspite of the above warnings, if you still want to do what you asked for, then use the
docmd.runsql "Alter Table TableName Add Column ColumnName Double;"
and
Docmd.Runsql "Update TableName Set ColumnName = ...;"

Since this was a working database and has stopped working, it implies that something outside the database changed.
I would check the references section (open the module (the code on the form in this case) that has the code -- then Tools and References).
It seems like something got updated on...
I think that the best option is to link the tables and run update queries.
If you are going to be somehow linking and updating all the 22 databases, then you
a. Create all the links and keep them
b. Create the links on the fly, update the databases and then delete the links.
This does not...
There is a command line switch "/x:MacroName" that you can use to start a particular macro on loading.
Of course there is also the Autoexec Macro.
