A friend of mine uninstalled a trial version of NAV 2003 form his XP OS machine and found that he couldn't connect to the net nor his local network.
He noted his TCP/IP service could not be restarted until he reinstalled the now out-of-date trial software !

You've only given scant clues but you may have a sick (as in unwell, not as in kewl!) memory stick.
Turn on your BIOS memory check and see if it passes. If the memory is not bypassed, check that the memory indicated is what you have installed - with any memory assigned to on-board video taken...
