Sorry I feel abit silly for asking the I did not realise that PC-cillin antivirus came with a firewall and when installed stared in full blocking mode. Hope I didn't waist anyone time!! Thanks for the responses anyway!- chipjay

Realtek 8139 pci 10/100
Two computers running win98SE with 3com cards ping fine both ways to each other. Computer with Realtek 8139 pings itself and other computers OK but will not respond to pings from other computers. Switch works ok cables ok ip and subnet check and double check Any ideas- chipjay
