Thanks for the useful post...
I've modified your third code example to work from within an Excel worksheet and will soon be using it to load data from returned survey forms into a spreadsheet for analysis.
I can post the completed code here if anyone is interested.
Thanks again.

To have matching names highlighted in the first subreport, I think you will need to add a "dummy copy" of the second subreport to a section preceding the first subreport. (This is similar to the dummy subreport you would create if you wanted to conditionally suppress a subreport - see...
EO,
although you seem to have seem to have fixed your immediate problem, I've been able to use shared array variables to do similar things to what it seems you are attempting to do...
It's not a pretty solution, and I wouldn't recommend it if you want a lot of data passed between sub-reports...

I have based the main report off the Employer table grouping on Employer.Employer_name with the two subreports in Details A & Details...
No. Page header is empty, and I only have the Special Fields Print Date, Print Time & Page N of M in the page footer.
I've eliminated the problem from occuring by clicking the "Keep Group Together" checkbox (all sub-reports are in the one group) which ends up generating less blank...
Hi.
The formula should be
totext({site.site_no}, 0, "")+'-'+totext({site.site_addr1})
the zero is the number of decimal places and the empty string will overide the default settings for the thousands separator.
I have designed a report (using CR 8.5) that makes extensive use of subreports to retrieve and format all the information required by my client. The client is able to select which items will be reported on via query building tools that are part of the software they use.
Because each item can...
