New to single hosted network

Thanks guys. What you have described is no different to a /30 subnet having two IP addresses, one for the host and another for the router. I need more info on the significance when somebody gives you a /32 single host address.

    New to single hosted network

Hello, I have a couple years of experience integrating multiple networks over Cisco switches and routers. But I have yet to have the chance to deal with single hosted network. Recently I have been given these IP addresses 202.33.33.1/32 and 202.33.33.2/32 for use with two hosts. * When...

I read the same web page you did. When the writer mentioned "-X <excludefile>" option, he was referring to 'tar'.

Help: NTP. What could be wrong?

It is indeed "xntpx". When I run '/etc/init.d/xntpd stop', the xntpd process would terminate. But xntpx processes would remain. I restarted ntp by: 1) cp xntpd xntpd_debug 2) edit xntpd_debug to include -d -l options 3) /etc/init.d/xntpd stop 4) /etc/init.d/xntpd_debug start ---...

I found a couple of /usr/sbin/xntpx processes in machine C-a. What are these things? I tried running 'xntpd -d -l /tmp/xntp.log'. xntpd process died within 10 seconds.

Help: NTP. What could be wrong?

I configured 2 Solaris machines, namely C-a and C-b to NTP sync with a Solaris NTP server, S-ntp. Everything worked fine after the configuration. 'ntpq -p' output shows that both C-a and C-b are synchronized to S-ntp. Visual check of system clocks between C-a, C-b, and S-ntp were a'ok. After a...

    HELP: netstat -rn (flag UGHD)

Dear all, I have a couple of questions about Cisco equipment and their associated show env output. In a typical controlled environment with ambient temperature of 22C, what should be the normal reading of "show env temperature" of a 12006 series GSR. What do you think of the...
