Try using the ISBLANK(fieldname) function to validate whether that particular field actually contains the false setting versus defaulting to false because it is null.

Go to the Menu Bar -> select "View" - > click on the "Ruler" option. Also make sure that under the same "View Menu" you select the "Print Layout" option.

I am not aware of any password protection which can be implemented on a dBASE database directly. Of course, I am not aware whether you could use passwords directly on dBASE IV and/or V. Are you sure you are not using a program which asks for a password whenever you try accessing the database...

I guess the PACK command works in the same fashion as the DEL command in DOS, whereby only the header portion of the file is modified to disable any form of identification...
