Windows7 Office 2010 This is only happening for one user, and I can't figure it out. We have a .dot file (with decisions text / editing tools) on our network that one department loads with Word. To do this, we place a shortcut to that .dot in the user's appdata\roaming\microsoft\word\startup...

Word 2000 (on Windows XP) - navigation keys don't work

Yes, the mouse can navigate & select. Other keystrokes work (like you can type words, etc.) ... you just can't use the keyboard to navigate within the document. The OS is WindowsXP. The oddest part of this is that if you toggle on-and-then-off the Wordperfect items (help for wordperfect and...

Word 2000 (on Windows XP) - navigation keys don't work

This typically happens when the user is switching between 2 Word documents (copy / paste, etc. between them). Suddenly the keyboard's navigation keys (arrows, PgUp PgDn, Home, End, etc.) don't work. The mouse can move about the document. Scroll-Lock is NOT the issue. The WordPerfect...

    Kodak i40 USB scanner

When I use the scan validation tool, the page will start to feed but will not complete -- the lower ~1 inch of the page stays in the scanner and the validation tool freezes. Has anyone seen this behavior? Scanner FW = 3.4, on Windows XP Pro SP2.

Create a folder that includes date in the name

    Check THIS one out -- a coworker suggested this: destination = "g:\_backups_" & Year(Date) & "-" & Month(Date) & "-" & Day(Date) which gives me \_backups_2009-2-3\ (remove the dashes if you like)

    Outlook 2003 Recurring Appointment

I have a user who is experiencing a problem with Outlook 2003 ... she has numerous recurring appointments. She has them set to be "all day" appointments, so that the appointment appears in the top portion of her calendar for the day. The appointments were correct this morning, then mid-way...

B2D runs for a while, then status = "queued"

BackupExec 11d on Windows 2k Problem is intermittent, but most often occurs on our FULL backup schedule over the weekends. The job kicks off OK, writes data OK but then stalls after reaching around 1.3 TB of data, going into a QUEUED status. I cannot get the job to recover from Queued. There...

    Where is the Shadow Copy?

Fixed it. The service was running fine. Not sure WHY this occurred although everything points to some possible corruption in the VSS database, so I'll be purging that soon enough. I selected some of the older shadow copies and deleted them - after the server settled back down a little, voila...

    Where is the Shadow Copy?

Our server reports that it had a successful shadow copy of the data 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm last Friday. Previous versions only show 8, 9, 10 and 11. Where are the shadow copies for Friday afternoon? Is there a way to view them on the server in question, since I...

    Backup Exec 11d "Invalid Schedule"

I solved my own problem - we are backing up a UNIX box (backup exec is on a Windows server) - the UNIX box hadn't registered the time change from DST. And re-submitting the schedule for the job after changing the time fixed the problem.

    Backup Exec 11d "Invalid Schedule"

The job ran OK last night, no errors. This morning the job shows "Invalid Schedule" with a start time of the time the job ENDED this morning (5:45 am). The job is scheduled to run at 9:10pm, with its backup window closing at 4:45am. I tried extending the backup window to 5:45 and it still...

Volume Shadow Copy Not Working "Normally"

Volume Shadow Copy Not Working "Normally"

We've had shadow copy running successfully on our Win2003 server for some time now. When I check the "Previous Versions" tab on my client, I can only see snapshots from 6pm last Friday and prior - I cannot see the snapshots created this morning (the server shows that the shadow copies were...
