I am using sms in an active directory environment on a large European domain. The domain contains 3 seperate sms primary sites with numerous secondary sites per parent. This is for regional and administrative purposes.
I have removed a secondary site called GY1 from a primary site. The site...
We have recently moved SMS into a large European domain with roughly 57 000 objects in the domain. The site config is 5 secondary sites and primary site all in same domain and all AD domain controllers. My sites only cover a small part of the domain and use site boundaries relating to subnets...
SMS20 SP4. I found an article on microsoft regarding kbstuff. It said in some cases one should reboot the pc after the client has been installed. I did this and it worked in this case but other times it doesn't.
I often have this problem - install the client and I can remote control the client fine however the send ctrl-alt-del button does not work. This doesn't help for servers as there is nobody at these machines. Anyone know what causes this and how I get around it? I know sometimes re-installing...
I have recently rebuilt my entire SMS site - SMS2 SP4 on W2K DC as primary + 5 secondary sites also on W2K DC. So far my database has about 2500 clients that were detected including loads of workstations that are in the same domain but far away and won't be assigned to my sites (they have their...

W2K uses DNS for host name resolution. The client may be able to ping the servers ip address but does the name get resolved? Try ping the server using the server dns name. If this fails check your workstation dns settings.

Is there a way to remove site systems which have automatically been detected and configured as logon points by SMS. My site spans the UK however it exists in a large European active directory domain resulting in lots of domain controllers being detected. I don't need them in my SMS site and...
I have recently re-installed my entire SMS site as the original primary site crashed. I therefore re-installed SMS2 SP4 on a new W2K server as primary and re-installed all secondary sites with SP4 on W2K removing previous secondary sites. I use the same client connection account on all sites...
