Hi
We've been using WSS 3.0 for about 2 years and have recently noticed that entering a value in a person or group column deletes any existing values in other people columns for that item when OK is clicked. This seems to affect all lists on individual sites, but not all sites in a collection...
Hi All
We have been running a company Intranet on WSS 3.0 for 10 months now and had no problems.
Recently we have lost the abiltiy to update webparts if an Ajax enabled webpart is present on the page.
Here's how we get to the issue:
Using Site Actions --> Edit Page
Modify (for instance) the...
Hi
We have (attempted to) configure WSS 3.0 to email to a library if anyone uses the request access function.
No error messages are generated, the incoming mail passes through the smtp folder structure, but the mail never makes it to the library.
If the email is sent to a user...

Still struggling, the inserted images (jpg's) are now causing a test file to be 40x the file size of the image.

To reduce disk space usage I am trying to automatically compress images in a word file.
Users have been shown how to manually do this but soon forget to carry out the process, so am going for a prompt on save approach.
Have been trying to use Shapes object, but so far it's defeating me 8-(
We are getting approx 45 Gb on one tape but thought there was only 20 to go on.
Have checked file sizes again and it looks like Brightstor is actually reporting sizes correctly, it's the OS that was reporting the folder sizes wrong.
We are using Brightstore 9 and keep filling up tapes (35/70 with hw compression).
The activity log is reporting the approximately 49gb will be backed up. Then the tape fills.
When looking at file properties, however, the actual sizes of the files to be backed up are more like 20Gb.
Why is...

DNS settings were indeed incorrect. Thanks arteus, we now have a useable server again :) It's even quicker now that the netsheild has been tweaked as well.
Thanks for the suggestions.
The problem affects all server accounts... we are reluctant to boot to safe mode as it is a heavily used server & I don't fancy getting in at 0500 to try.
There is Netsheild anti virus running in the background. Switching it off did improve matters, but unfortunately...

Thanks, but unfortunately all options connected with the db are greyed out :-(
Looks like I might have to be in early tomorrow & re-boot the server to try to clear it.
