    You DO need to have Active Directory implemented on the Domain Controller. The Active Directory Database replaces the SAM Database that is utilized within NT 4.0 for holding all user and group information.

    Have you run the FixBlast program from Symantec. It may be infected with the Blaster Virus. Double check that.

    How about if you were to restore Active Directory to a time prior to the GPO being created and executed. That might work easier.
