    Modems in Presentation Server 3.0

That’s where I was looking. However the option for async connections is not there. I uninstalled Presentation Server 3 on the server and made sure that the modems were not part of a modem pool or a RAS group as described on page 82 of the Admin guide. I then went to reinstall and it still does...

    Modems in Presentation Server 3.0

Greetings, I just built out a MetaFrame Presentation 3.0 Farm. I was working on my last server which is running Windows 2003, and for the life of me, can not figure out how to set up the modems that are attached to the server. I went to the Citrix Connection Configuration Tool and clicked Add...

    DL585

I have a DL580G1 and I have nothing bad to say about it. I picked the DL585 over the DL580 after reading some comparisons that have the DL585 with quad 2.2GHz chips faster then a DL580 with quad 3GHz when using Windows 2003 and SQL 2000 SP3. If I remember where I read the review I will post a...

    DL585

I just purchased one of these for my firm and was wondering if anybody had any experience with this model? If so, was it good or bad? sg4me

    Swapping a SA 5312 for a 5302

Neill, Yes I doubled checked the unit and sure enough it has 64MB I think the earliest versions of the 5312 had 64MB, but just incase I am getting the unit swapped for a warranty part. Maybe I will get lucky and they will send me one with 128MB. :-) I was pretty sure that I could swap them but...

    Swapping a SA 5312 for a 5302

Greetings, I have a ML350 G3 with a Smart Array 5312 with 64MB of ram hosting a RAID 5 array. I have a 5302 with 128MB of ram that is sitting on a shelf doing nothing. I was wondering if I was to swap the two cards would the server recognize the new card with out a problem. Thanks, Ben

    Exchange Install Problem

I am in the process of building out a new Exchange 2003 server running on Windows Server 2003. The OS loaded fine. Domain prep and Forest prep completed with out any problems. I even installed the management tools with out any issues. However when I go to install Exchange I get a message stating...

    U320 disks

About half of all my drives are the Ultra 320 (I have over 160 drives in my servers) I have not noticed a higher rate of failure in these drives compared to the Ultra 2 and 3 drives. Personally for me, the late model Ultra 3 drives (especially the 36.4GB 10k RPM drives) seemed to fail a lot. I...

    Hard Drives for ProLiant ML370(G1)

Patrickrouse, In late 2002 I replaced my six original 18.2GB drives with 72.8GB drives. I had no problems. Granted I also replaced my SMART Array 3200 with a 5302, but I don’t see you having any problems using the 72.8GB drives with the SA431. Ben

    IOS and Feature Pack Question

Hi everyone, I am going to be upgrading the IOS on our 3620 router. The router currently has the IP/FW/IDS Plus IPSEC 3DES IOS image installed. When I upgrade to the newer version (12.2.15T8) will I have to re-enter the license key for the feature pack? Happy Holidays, Ben

    Fractional T3 Frame Circuit config.

Hi Tdoma, First thing first, 2 T1’s do not equal a T3. There is a world of difference between a 3 Mbit (2xT1) connection and a 45 Mbit (1xT3) connection. However, I can help. If you are using a bonded T solution which it sounds like you are, you should get a Multiflex Trunk T1 VWIC (Part...

    ML 370 won't install 2003 Server

You need Smartstart 5.5 to install Windows Server 2003 on a ML370 G1. You need to do a manual installation and select Windows .Net as the OS. You can still order a copy of 5.5 from this link http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/SmartStartinfo55.html Ben

    ML370 Random Reboots!!

A brown out is what happens when the power voltage coming dips below the normal voltage. (i.e. 115v instead of the normal 120v) While this can cause a server to crash it is highly unlikely if the server is plugged into a UPS. I have another question for you. Does the Compaq Integrated...

Advanced System Management Controller driver in Windows 2003

I just installed Server 2003 on a Proliant 3000. So far everything seems to be okay except for the fact that I can not get the Advanced System Management controller to take the updated driver off the HP website, which means none of the system agents will work. Has anyone else experienced this...

    ML370 Random Reboots!!

The KVM is possible but unlikely. But as the saying goes “Stranger things have happened.” I think the fact that it is happening at the same time almost every day would point to a scheduled task or something in the environment. I would check the event logs to see if there are any patterns of...

    ML370 Random Reboots!!

Snootalope, My first question is, have you updated all the Compaq drivers and firmware? If not I would go ahead and update them. My second question is this server hooked up to a KVM of some sorts? I have seen i8042prt errors on a few of my severs when the KVM was going bad. It is close but not...

After replacing RAID drive with bigger disks, what next?

Chunk123, I am not sure about MetaFrame 1.8 but in MetaFrame XP you can use the driveremap command to reverse the drive mappings. From the command line type: driveremap /u /drive:M /drive:C (This example shows how to reverse M: back to C:) Hope this helps.

    Question re multi-port serial cards

Rob, First question is what Generation DL380 or DL320 are you using? If it is a DL380 G1 or a DL320 G1, the PCI-Fast8 will work. The G1's have 64-bit/33Mhz (5v slot) PCI slots. On the other hand if it is a DL380 G2, DL380 G3, or a DL320 G2 it will not work. Those servers have the PCI-X which...
