I've had the same symptoms happen to me with several installations of W2K and found that the cd had a corrupt file. Switched to a different W2K cd and everything worked fine. Not sure if this is the same in your case but it's worth a try.

I agree with cdogg. Test you PC with a different monitor or test your monitor with a different pc before you go out and by new harware. This way you know for sure if your monitor is bad.

The reason why the list "drops up" rather then down is because of insufficient room to display the dropdown list towards the bottom of the screen. You could try scrolling the whole sheet down so that you have enough room to display the list downwards ... or even if the list displays...
Your error has something to do with sound card emulation for dos. If you are not using any programs that require sound under dos mode then just turn off this feature. You may need to check with your soundcard documentation or check Creative Labs website for more info on correcting this error...

In regards to the message left by Mikeygr1 [Jul 1, 2002]... I'm not sure if the fix that I posted applies to all bitware drivers.
