on the mac there is the excellent rapidweaver which is a template based system, is there something similar for PC. Or use one of the cms systems like Drupal or Joomla or XOOPS!. After set up the admin is relatively easy, or could you integrate ZenPhoto wth your html site

Techtool pro is good I also like alsoft.com's Diskwarrior, but with OS X it is worth learning a little unix terminal in order to do some maintenance yourself, but if you are a little worried about going into terminal, using utilities such as OnyX, Tinkertool, or maintain1 will help all of these...

wake up: there are viruses/trojans for the mac and there are new ones on the way.
We as mac users cannot afford to be laissez faire about this. Or take the attitude its just the windows people that get viruses, we can carry them too, and then they get sent on round the net, destroying software...
hmmm, most ordinary data recovery you need to be running a tracker in the system before hand, like techtool or the dreaded norton utilites, they don't always work that well
Really (IMO) most recovery software on mac osx is a waste of time, better to invest in backing up
