I have a DOS application that originally was printing to an EPSON 2170, where i could select the (20 cpi) pitch setting using the pitch button. This printer broke down and was replaced with an EPSON 1180. I tried setting the 1180 to condensed but i think it defaults to (17 CPI)...

I have 15 computers in the network with a direct connection to the ISP thru a switch. Win98 is running on 13 of the 15 computers the remaining 2 run win200 pro.
The problem is the 2 running Win2000 pro sometime fail to connect to internet. I then have to swap the preferred and alternate DNS...
Actually i have a direct connection to the ISP through a hub which is shared by other computers. I would like to connect this particular computer using XP, but how can i assign an IP address or include settings when am being asked to activate XP first !

I had problems with windows XP, so i used a CD to repair. The system on restart asked me to activate windows XP. The computer was originally not on internet. So i tried to set it on to the internet but can't get the options for internet setting.

The Printer needs to be switched off then on again if the PCL commands have to take effect. That is the reason i thought Win200 was working well because i would connect the printer then run the program. The user on the win98 computer would first run other dbase application then when she...
You scaled down my problem to Drivers ! I switched off the printer connected to the computer with win98 then back on.
Run the program and it worked !
I quess i have to switch the printer off then back on again if i want to overide the printer settings.

I have a dbase iv application and needed to use an HP 5L printer. I include PCL commands in my program using the CHR() function. This worked out fine for a computer using Win2000. The same Program however when run on a Computer using Win98 ignores the PCL Commands.

I put the PCL commands in my dbase program using the CHR() functions. It is working fine for the Computer using Win2000 but the same program on another computer using Win98 fails to effect the PCL Commands.
Would You know why ??
