i just installed a 250 gig hard drive on my comp running windows xp service pack 1a. when i open windows explorer and check how much memory is on my hd, it says the full capacity is only 230 gig. does anybody know why that is? thanx, steve

It looks like you still haven't read my post closely enough. I can't follow your directions for the simple reason that I CAN NOT install Windows XP sp1a. Everytime I try to, my comp refuses to boot up after the installation is done and I have to boot from my installation cd and reinstall...

no, in fact when i do the nozzle check to see if the heads need cleaning, only the blue and yellow lines show up...no red. its really weird.
