    SAP-ERP Installation failure

Hi, I don't think the DB version matters. I should test the mapping of hostname to ip address as per the note - if it is ok then you obviously have a different issue. Might be worth including more of the error message in this post. Regards Richard

System not booting due to memory problem

Hi, I hava a Sun E280R with 4GB RAM - one of the 1GB memory modules has failed and now the box won't boot. This is only a test box so could happily run with 3GB - is there a setting I need to change to enable the box to come up with the missing 1GB of RAM? Cheers Richard

    Dividing large numbers

Hi, I am trying to modify a script to convert a file size in bytes to Mb. I have tried using let for this, but this doesn't seem to work for large numbers, eg:- x=34358697984 let y=$x/1048576 echo $y 0 Is there another way of doing this? Regards Richard

    Press F1 required on reboot

Thanks for the info. that explains why it is happening. The box has slots for two power supplies but only has one installed so it is obviously complaining about the 'missing' one. Is it possible to stop it doing this - i.e. is there a setting we can change somewhere? Regards Richard

    Press F1 required on reboot

Hi, We manage a number of servers at remote sites using PC Anywhere. We have one particular server that will not reboot without intervention - pressing F1 key is required. This can be a pain if no-one is available to do this on site. The box is a Compaq Proliant 3000 running Win2k. Any ideas...

    Remote console access

Hi, I remotely administer a couple of E450s running Solaris 8. I would like to enable remote console access by connecting the boxes to each other via their serial ports. Am I correct in thinking that I need a 'null modem' cable for this? Also, which ports do I connect? Thanks Richard
