I would like to export the list of installed applications and updates from Add/Remove programs on a machine to a text file. I've done some searching on the web and have found 3rd party tools, but, nothing from Microsoft. Is there a tool or script that I can use to get this information out?
I appreciate all of your responses. I actually found that the Windows Firewall didn't configure itself even though I'd acknowledged that it would do so when I installed IIS. I set up the site on a Vista computer so let's hope that this will be fixed before the RTM version.
Thanks!
I have a site that I set up in IIS and it works on the local computer. From this point, however, I'm lost. I set up dynamicDNS, but, it only allows me to get to the login page of my Linksys RTP300 router.
If anyone can either direct me to a page that explains what I need to do, or, give me a...
I have an SMS server that's not connected to the internet which we need to be able to update the catalog on.
Where can I find the catalog to manually update?
I've got a report that I have to enter a "week ending" date on. Each week, right now, I manually go into the database and change that date to be the correspondig Friday.
What I would like to do is have the date, by default, be the upcoming Friday in the same format that I enter other dates...
We've looked in the logs and there's been nothing unusual going on. The network is not connected to the outside world so we're not overly concerned about outside world. Users cannot use any external media (USB/Serial/CD, etc.) so the only way that it could have been changed other than the rare...
Recently, a few computers on my domain have simply renamed themselves. The new name of the computer is displayed at login and is recognized in DNS. This name, however, is not the one that we gave the computer when it was configured. It has been on the domain for over a year (closer to two) but...
I really don't need a page file that large. I made it huge and figured that if I needed the space, I could always adjust. I play around with configurations a lot just to see what works best for me. I've got 1.5GB of PC3200 RAM so I do need to upgrade, but, I haven't been gaming much on my PC...
Thanks, I've heard so many great things about dynamic discs that I thought that I was missing something. Maybe it's something that matters in Vista (some of the great words are from developers).
Thanks for the reply. I just installed the third drive and created a new page file just to see if there would be a perfomance upgrade since the new page file is on a faster disc. I'm going to move the old drive into a media center when I get home next week so i'll be back to one again.
In your...
I've got three hard drives in my computer. I have a page file set up on the two that do not have the OS installed on them. Is there any benefit to creating a partition for the page file or should they be alright in the current configuration? I put a 1GB page file on each drive (they're both...
I actually have two questions in this post. The first, what advantage (other than RAID) is there to converting hard drives to dynamic discs right now? I've got an XP x64 PC with a couple of drives in it and I've tried both Basic and Dynamic discs for the OS and haven't noticed a bit of...
