Hi all
I am running a 2000 server and having printing problems. The printers are running from a HP jet direct box and i have set them up on the server ok.
What happens is that every now and again someone will print. The print will come out fine but the job hangs in the queue at 'deleting'...
Hi guys
I want to keep a track of the volume of mails passing through my mail server. I have been using the logging function of exch 5.5 where it copies a temp file for every mail in and out. I used to then count the number of files.
Is there any way or any 3rd party apps the just tells you...
You need to get yourself a serial cable and plug it into the switch. You can then use Hyper terminal to give it an IP address.
Then you should be able to find it...
Hope this helps
Hi all
I am having trouble with my CGI. We are currently using Active State Perl 6.1 as our CGI app on IIS 5.5. Recently it has started falling over. The scripts will work fine, then after a non-specific amount of time it stops working and i get this message
"CGI Error

Hi all
We are currently running v7.4 on a NT box and the machine is dying. I am taking this as an opportunity to move to the new version of backup exec and to move to 2000.
I have installed the new version on our 2000 box and all is well. The problem i have is how to get the catalogue...
Hi all
I want to create a web page that will allow my remote users to change their domain password. Is it possible to change domain credentials via Perl?
Cheers
Hi all
We are currently running an Nt 4 domain with a Checkpoint FW-1 firewall. I need to let remote users change their domain password.
Does anyone know a way of doing this?
Cheers
Hi all
I am just rolling out a disaster recovery solution for my Exchange 5.5 server. What i have done:
Installed same OS and same Exchange server including service packs and hotfixes, the machine is part of the domain with same service account for exchange and site and organisation is the...
your ISP may have an address, have you asked them. I use UUnet(UK) abnd they have bounce accounts.
If not there must be others, i just don't know them ;o)

I recently had an issue with our 9000 series switch where the modules within kept rebooting at what appeared to be random intervals.
After a lot of investigation i found that a device on the network had a duff MAC address. Device removed, problem solved.
Has anyone else had this? I just want...
The only real reason for failure would be if the switch gets too hot. The best bet would be to replace the fan (if you are handy with screwdriver!) of it might be time to upgrade ;o)
Thanks polymath
The problem is the PDC isn't winning. It is constantly putting entries in the event log. I have another BDC so i am quite happy disabling browsing services on the duff one.
Thanks a lot,
sorry for gatecrashing your thread icintamyself
;o)
The EDB files are for exchange 5.5 and they won't work under Exchange 2000.
i think the best way would be to create a new Exchange 5.5 server drop in you edb files. Then you need to run isinteg -patch. Then you can start the services.
You then need to open up Exchange admin and click the...
I am having the same issue but it is actually a BDC doing it! The network connectivity is fine, ping resolves and people are actually validating logins through it.
Any ideas greatly appreciated
The thing with switches is that each port is isolated. So unlike a hub you can't sniff all data from another port. The exact term for 3Com is a "roving analysis port"
if you telnet to the device go to feature > analyzer and add port. When you add this to a port that port will...
I had matrix cables ages ago for my 3300's and i'm a fairly sure my software rev was ancient and mine worked fine.
Possibility the matrix cable is faulty?
Hi
What 3Com switch do you have? IF you are running a Full duplex setup you shouldn't be experiencing collision issues at all. The reason i say this is that the orange lights roughly indicate activity on my switches.
The best thing to do is telnet into the switch. Type ethernet > statistics...
