Hi :-)
I have had a strange thing happen recently and I can''t fix it, so thought I'd ask here!
When I've created a web page in Frontpage 2002 it shows up in preview but a browser brings up a blank page. After looking, I find the html tab doesn't have code in the <body>
I've recently set up...
I have a problem with one set of spreadsheets in a particular directory. They are 1,600kbs ish in size and when user A has it open user B can also have it open without being prompted to open read-only.
I don't think it's because they open it at the exact same time either.
Hope you can help me...
Hi :-)
I'm trying to set up a printer-friendly web page and haave set the margins in frontpage to 0. However, the page is still being printed with the standard margin gap for A4 paper.
Is there a way to alter the gap?
Thanks

Hi :-)
I've had the problem for a while.
I set the screensaver tothe starfield simulation and set it to start after 8 minutes idleness and it works. Later that day it has somehow been reset to "none", ie no screensaver is is use.
No-one else has touched the pc.
Thanks in advance for your...
I'm using windows 2000 sp4, and this morning the machine took an age to load from the blue screen to the network connections/login prompt.
I had defragged the disk last night, so I don't think the problem is the hard disk - anyone got any ideas on what can be causing this and how to fix it...
Hi :-)
Hope you can help me.
When I turn seti off my pc squeaks. This seems backwards to me as my pc uses less cpu when seti is turned off (as seti uses all spare cpu oomph).
I wondered if anyone knows what the problem might be and whether it could be due to the heat - it's only happened the...
Hi :-)
Hope you can help. On both Saturday and Sunday morning, my pc's power button squeaked when I turned on the pc. This morning, it didn't squeak, but it didn't do anything for a few seconds when I pressed it in, and then suddenly turned on the pc.
Is there anything I can do to stop the...
Hi Dan :-)
Yes.....but if one image is coloured the same as the background (so it seems like the arrow moves as you move the mouse), I need the one image to change colour too, or the page will look odd.
ie, having a red arrow on a white background - I'd need to do a gif of a white square. So...
I found a javascript that changes the background colour of a webpage, depending on the time of day. Works fine.
Then I had a brainwave of using a mouseover on my links so that it looks like an arrow moves up and down the links as the mouse moves. that would also work, I'm guessing...
I originally posted this to the windows 2000 group, so sorry if you read this before:
My 2000 machine rebooted several times before eventually loading yesterday morning. Each time before the actual windows started, before the 'verifying the DMI Pool Data ' part.
I gave the disk a scan and a...
More info:
Now I've watched it again this morning, it reboots after every stage of the boot, ie: deteccting drives, pool data, the bar going across, and the windows blue line. It's likeit 'forgets' how to load when it's first turned on - normal restarts work fine.
*scratches head*

My 2000 machine rebooted several times before eventually loading this morning. Each time before the actual windows started, before the 'verifying the DMI Pool Data ' part.
I gave the disk a scan and a chkdsk and it rebooted fine, thankfully. Would it be the mbr or hardware that's causing it...
I'm trying to concatenate two cells from a linked spreadsheet in excel 2002, but the formula
=CONCATENATE([spreadsheet1.xls]Tab'!$I$112," ",[spreadsheet1.xls]Tab'!$J$112)
says "That name is not valid".
Hope youcan help me :-) Thanks in advance :-)

I've just had a sata 200gb disk. Sometims it makes a strange noise....It's not the fan or usual disk activity noise - it's a loud grunching noise.
Does anyone have any ideas why it's doing this and/or how to fix it?
Thanks in advance
Penny :-)
