If you turn on OOF with Outlook 2003 it only turns on the Internal OOF. If you need the external you have to set it using either OWA or Outlook 2007.

I should have added that we had a similar issue for non admin users and the ones who had not inherited permissions hadn't got the correct security settings.

In AD, go in to a user>security>advanced. is Inherit ticked? If not then Tick and OWA should work again.

In Exchange 2003 you could restrict who could send through an Internet Mail Connector using the Deliver Restricions option. Does anyone know if/how that can be done in Exchange 2007? Thanks Marcus

Not sure if same applies to Ex2007 but with Ex2003 and Win Mob 5 you have to install the suppliers security cert on to the device and then sync.

I dont know about Mac mail but we had similar problems with Entourage and that has to be configured to so the exchange server name is your front end server and passwords in plain text.

I suggest you setup a public folder for contact items for these users and you can then in the properties of this tick "Show this folder as an outlook adress book" on the oulook address book tab.

You can create a custom installation by using the Custom Installation Wizard which is part of the Office 2003 resource kit. It creates a mst file which you then apply using the setup.exe when installing office or outlook.

You can set up auto archiving on them but set the option to delete the messages after a certain amount of time rather than actually archiving them.

You can create a custom recipient for the outside address then add that recipient to the distribution list.
