I would like to make it so that certain users do not have the right to change to another directory as well as list the items in the current directory. They have to stay in the home directory.

On my system all of my shortcut icons are being displayed as another icon on my system. If I go and change the icon it immediately changed back to the wrong icon being displayed. If I refresh the desktop the actual icons appear for about a quarter of a second and then wrong icons appear again...
