I am certain that I was in manual recalc mode while investigating this problem. I do, however, have some additional information about the problem: The day after I submitted my problem statement, I again tried opening the same 14MB file -- and it worked fine, with normal (very quick) response...- msorens

Large file performance in Lotus 1-2-3
I have a Lotus 1-2-3 file which has grown over time to about 14MB with 105 sheets/tabs. All of a sudden, my system (400 MHz with 160MB) has slowed to an imperceptible crawl, apparently due to the size of this file. (I have tried defragmenting the disk, closing all other apps, rebooting...- msorens
