Hi lor,
Assuming an environment already has a NetWorker backup server elsewhere in the environment........
A SAN Storage Node is basically a machine which backs up itself to tape storage which is directly connected to itself - there is no IP network traffic involved. The connection to tape...
Nope, don't think you are misunderstanding .rhosts at all but it looks as though it doesn't work as advertised! Try "hosta +" in .rhosts on hostb. This should match any user on hosta and achieve what you want.
Try forcing the backup level for these clients from the command line e.g.
# savegrp -l full <YOUR_GROUP_NAME>
This should kick off a backup correctly. If it doesn't please post the errors you receive here so we can try to help!

I believe this is an Exchange problem. Exchange uses a couple of registry keys to keep track of where backups have got to. As I understand it the problem occurs when Exchange loses track of things for some reason - on a full backup these keys aren't updated and on incremental backup Exchange...
Perhaps something you've already checked, but is your OS 9 machine running AppleTalk and is it currently set to share any folders? If nothing is shared out from the OS 9 side then I don't think the machine will appear as selectable in "Connect to Server..."

Hi,
Been a while since I've seen one of these - hope my memory holds!
1. Open the library
2. Press the 'Unload' button on the problem drive.
3. Wait for the 'Operate Handle' button to light
4. Lift the brown(?) handle thing attached to the right hand side of the drive. This is the equivalent...
Hi,
I've seen this as well on Solaris 8 but have never had a chance to look closely into what was going on. I *think* what is happening is that 'shutdown' now waits for all the 'kill' scripts to exit gracefully before shutdown and that one of these scripts is sat waiting for an application to...
Hi!
I'm not familiar with the CE card, but have you tried using ndd to query what you can set/get from the card? Something like:
ndd -set /dev/ce instance 1
ndd -get /dev/ce ?
I'm not near a Solaris box at the moment so can't check if you need to quote the '?' or not ( \? ). Have a go and see...
Hi,
Just in case you are still having the problem....
"No Output" can also be produced if you don't have enough permissions to back something up. Perhaps you have a part of your database which is more secure than other parts, or the user who is running the backups has no access to...
Hi
Have you tried carrying out a normal filesystem backup of your exchange server? This might point you in the right direction. Also try running the NetWorker Exchange User program on your Exchange server and kicking off a backup that way. I've seen problems where manual backups of this sort...
