My Solaris 10 is set up with PASSLENGTH = 8, and, then 1 lower case, 1 upper case, 1 special character, and one digit (number). It is working as programmed. However, management is asking if this can be set up to "comply with IEEE Standards" of "three out of four". I can't find anything that...
We have EVM (Enhanced Voice Mail....Mutare product) and someone has inadvertently changed the admin password. Does anyone have a clue how to find it? I dug around in the registry of the EVM server and couldn't find it. Help.......
So, I think that what you are saying is that someone could walk into the LAN room and plug a laptop into one of the switch ports that feed VoIP phones and the DHCP scope would (if correctly provisioned with separate VLANs) would prevent any unauthorised access.
Right?
Yes, that certainly is a good idea regarding securing the phone port. However, what I am referring to is the LAN Ethernet port. I envision someone walking into an office, unplugging a phone and plugging the cable into a laptop.
Thank you, Marilynn
I would assume that a laptop plugged into the VOIP phone ethernet connection would be assigned an IP address within that scope. Also, I would assume that this will allow it to connect to the VOIP elements (CLAN’s and Medpros) and that the CLAN’s and Medpro have telnet and ftp desabled (unless...
Update:
I worked with Avaya, and, I was finally able to upgrade these three phones.
I uploaded a new file to the CLAN TFTP (via the Avaya TFTP server). Several times I plugged the phone in, and, it went immediately into a download, and, then failed. Display TFTP-Server showed that the file was...
The following are notes from my installation:
VMM server is installed and is running as a service on the server.
and, shows no licenses.
SNMP is turned on with public and private both set as READ WRITE.
Not complete, but, perhaps setting SNMP to Read and Write will do it.
Well, I now have three paperweights (former telephones). One appears to have been bad out of the box. One was the one that we tried to upgrade last week and went back to V2.01 2420D.
This morning (after checking the tftp-server and the feature access code in the G3R) I dialed *36, received a...
On Friday I did a "change tftp-server", and, changed the tftp server to another CLAN, and, it appears to be holding the file in ACP memory. I'm guessing that if I try to upgrade another phone it will work this time without frying the phone. Wish me luck.
Yes, we were thinking of doing just that....sending them back. We don't know why the file went away, and, had no reason to believe that it was missing. The other PBX still has a good solid file on it, and, doesn't need a TFTP server. The PBX is the TFTP server, and, it works like a charm. I...
We have a dilemma. We have (had) two brand new 2420 V3 phones. We plugged the first one in, and,dis *36 (our FEA code for FW downloads). It didn't work. In fact, it wiped out the FW, and, now it is saying....

/usr/bin/grep '08/29/07 19:10:16|.*|*|.*|ACDLINK3.*|.*|CALL|' /opt/cc/aot/data
/log/alarm_log |cut -f2 -d'|'
I know that this is related to looking at the alarms in an ACD link, but, don't fully understand it.
Thank you,
Marilynn
