I wish I could say I had an answer, but I still don't know what the cause is. Since I can jumpstart the process by sending an e-mail from 2k3 to 5.5, my workaround was to create a script that sends an e-mail from the 2k3 server to a mailbox on the 5.5 server every 5 minutes. That has been...
Here is some more information that I have gatherred regarding the problem I am having. It is still happening but I have found that if a message is sent from teh Ex 2003 server to the Ex 5.5 server, all messages queued up for delivery from 5.5 to 2003 are then transferred immediately.
Hello All,
I have a problem I hope you all will be able to help me with. I am in the middle of a project to migrate users from Ex 5.5 to Ex 2003. I have the Ex 2003 server installed and the IT department's mailboxes have already been migrate. There was no problem with the mailbox move or...
Thanks for all the posts. Unfortunately, none apply to my scenario. However, I have made some progress. After adding the group and giving search permissions didn't work, I decided to scrap my installs and start over. Again, I could not access a mailbox as the user that is the primary account for...
Hello All,
I'm putting together a little network that will be a W2K domain with two Exch 5.5 servers in two sites. This is actually a non-production setup. My problem is that I can not access any mailbox unless I use the service account, even when using the user account that I assigne to the...
Hello all,
I have recently put a second Exchange 2000 server in place in our organization. Everything works good but my question is regarding OWA. I have noticed that if I go to OWA on my original exchange box but my mailbox is on the new machine, OWA redirects me to the new machine's URL...
I have a situation that I hope someone will be able to assist me with. MY AD structue was built without really knowing the ins and outs of things, namely AD Sites.
My network consists of 6 locations, each with its own child domain, as well as the root domain. When all DCs for every domain was...
Thank you markdmac. I checked out using "Delegate Control" on an OU and I found that if you only chose from the lists of common tasks the task to reset passwords doesn't give permission to unlock an account that has been locked out. The only thing that would work is the "Create...
Hello,
I am experiencing an issue where some Internet sites are being resolved to an incorrect IP address, always 216.52.102.129, on my ISA server.
The problem first was reported when a user tried to go a particular website but couldn't. I pinged that website (happenned to be Netzero) from...
Hello All,
I am trying to find out how I can give certain users the ability to reset passwords and unlock accounts in a W2K Active Directory domain without adding the users to the Account Operators group. I do not want these users to be able to add or delete user accounts, if that is possible...
Hello,
I am having a problem with my Exchange 2K server. The information store service will suddenly stop with no warning. The only mention in the Event Logs are that the "service stopped unexpectedly" and that a Dr. Watson occurred. The Dr. Watson entry does not even indicate which...

Hello,
I have been requested by the administration of my company to look for any software package that can provide any sort of reporting for our Exchange system. They want more then logging. I know that's a bit vague, but that's what I was told. I believe that they are looking for something...
What version of the IM client are you using? I had also had a problem setting this up recently. We were going to use the version of MSN Messenger that ships with Windows XP and found that it doesn't support IM through Exchange. Microsoft has a versoin available for download that does support...
Hi all,
I have found the answer to my question and wanted to post it in case anybody else is experiencing this problem. As I expected, the problem was that the IM authentication traffic was being passed through the ISA Server, even with "Bypass Local Addresses" option checked. I had...
Hi,
This is Len from the Aug post. I have recently found the answer (but forgot I even posted the question :). This is caused by the differences between active and passive FTP connections. Some proxies apparently do not like one or the other. In my case, the solution for using IE to access FTP...
I hope someone can help me out here. I have a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain (service pack 2 on all servers), Exchange 2000 (sp2), ISA 2K Server (SP1) on a member server and Windows XP (sp1) at the desktop. I am trying to get the Exchange Instant Messenging service to work in my...

The Blackberry Internet Edition will work for you. How it works is that the handheld has its own e-mail address, which is seperate from your corporate address. What you do is configure that users account to forward a copy of all mail to that address. That will allow the BlackBerry to receive...
