I am responsible for a multi-user machine on which Norton Internet Security 2006 is installed (Win XP SP2). It is not a highly used machine and therefore remains at the login screen much of the day -- that is, the screen on which the various user names appear.
I am finding that automatic live...
I disabled Goback (version 3.?) this morning. On the subsequent reboot, NAV 2004 came up and said it needed reactivating. Of course, it had been activated in June when I purchased and installed it. Goback was still installed and enabled at that time -- probably a key point.
When I attempted to...
Glad to help.
Yes, you're absolutely right -- The form needs to be set up on the computer that "owns" the printer (ie the one to which it is local). My client's configuration is similar.

First, I created a new form called "Meal Ticket" in the Windows 2000 printserver properties of the Okidata printer. I set its dimensions to 5.75 x 8.5 inches (That is my form size). I think that you need to be using Win 2000, XP or NT (??) as your operating system as these support the use of...
Thanks for the reply.
Problem solved! I realized that the O2K Disc 2 install was probably incomplete. It was taking an eternity last night and I probably ran out of patience and cancelled it. Sometimes I'm my own worst enemy!
I started it up again, with Disc 2 in the drive, and then left the...
Environment: Win XP Pro - Office 2000
I uninstalled Office 2000 SR1 (long story as to the reason) and then ran eraser2k.exe. I then reinstalled Office 2000. The "completed successfully" message appeared. Problem: Whenever I open an Access mdb file, Setup starts to run (message...
The only other thing I can think of is to insert some error handling (On error ....) in your code before the
db.querydef.delete ("BySup")
statement. Check err.number for the appropriate value for a "not found" condition (I'm not sure what that value is) and take...
I have modified your code (see below) to eliminate the make table from the select. With these modifications, the sql is just a simple select query. I have not tried this so I don't guarantee that it will work precisely as I've written it.
Once that works, change the report's record source to...
You can use a query, as well as a table, for the recordsource of a report.
My husband (a retired COBOL programmer) and I just finished a big Access VBA project and he had the same idea about queries. A query does not have to be "executed" to produce results. It is a view of data in...
Are the brackets actually in the field? If so, I would try something like the following:
leftbracket = instr(1,fieldname,"[")
rightbracket = instr(1,fieldname,"]")
issuelen = (rightbracket - 1) - (leftbracket +1) + 1
issuenumber = mid(fieldname,leftbracket + 1,issuelen)...
Access 2000 - Win 2K Professional
I have a meal ticket report currently in production that uses a true type font (Courier New) and goes thru an Okidata print driver. It also uses a special form (5.75 x 8.5) that is defined in the printer server properties. Everything works perfectly.
However...
Perhaps you could use the openargs parameter of the docmd.openform command. Pass different arguments to the called form with each docmd.openform. That way your code in the called form can take appropriate actions depending on the argument passed.
HTH.
FYI.
Also had the same problem. Could not reinstall NAV 2003 at all. Of course, the customer had tried installing it herself on an infected machine so that could explain that!
We ended up installing NAV 2002, bringing everything up to date with Live Update, and everything worked fine.
I am having a problem getting different print results from the Win 2K Pro
generic text driver using the same program on two different machines. The
differences are primarily in length of paper and cutting.
My client has two Win 2K Pro machines. Let's call them D (purchased from a
major...
Perry:
I believe that I did try that solution and it didn't work.
The client is a single pc site. The only option I see for her, insofar as LU has ceased working, is to use the Intelligent Updater shortcut that I set up for her. I am fairly convinced that some piece of software installed on...
Yizhar:
Thanks, again, for the reply.
Zone Alarm is installed but disabled on her machine. The Win XP firewall is enabled. I tried disabling it but it didn't help.

Perry:
Thanks for your interest in this problem.
Unfortunately, I can't be sure that the Netscape install caused the problem. Her son apparently installed Netscape because she was having a 128 bit (??) security issue with IE in attempting to log on to a financial institution. That's about the...
Yizhar:
Thanks for the suggestion although I doubt that it is ISP related. Her ISP is the local cable company (mine is the same) which has a virtual "lock" on the cable modem service in the area. I know a lot of users who use this ISP and I have not heard of a similar LU issue...
Thanks, again, for the reply.
I believe that one of her son's installed Netscape so I probably don't have too much of an option there!
Someone else, on another list, suggested that I make a bat file for my client. Symantec suggests that alternative for NAVCE users who can't connect to their...
Thanks for the reply. LiveUpdate definitely did work at one time. The machine was purchased in January 2002 and we set it up for her. LU definitely worked at that time.
It's a frustrating problem because I honestly can't say what software was installed recently. It is not under my direct...
