Exchange 2003 SP1 fixed this issue for us.
Prior to installing the SP, Recipient policies (email addresses) were not applied correctly or even at all to new user accounts. No amount of AD/RUS troubleshooting could fix the problem.
Check your (app) event log for error 8331.

The custom query piped thru grep (from your FAQ page thanks!) returned nothing. SCOADMIN>SOFTWARE MANAGER>SOFTWARE>PATCH MANAGEMENT>VIEW LOADED PATCHES shows "year 2000 supplement for sco openserver 5.0.2" as the only patch loaded on the system.
Thanks for the tip. Looks like the next step is to figure out what patches are on my system and try to get uo to date. Not looking forward to it; it looks like a thorny task.

I apologize in adavnce if this issue has been addressed. I did search and did not find a reference to it. Here is the issue:
(relevant) Hardware/config
Compaq proliant dual P200 server
3com etherlink 3c509 1Mbps NIC (only one in suystem)
TCP/IP is bound to this nic, class C IP address...
The gateway info you are seeing comes from the route table on the system. do a man on route and you will get the details on this. i would investigate the braodcast address and the gateway arress currently configured on your syetm. when you chnaged the ip you moved that machine from one calss...
