Chip,
I will occasionally plug mine in although I don't recall doing so recently.
Whether someone else did or not I can't say. The server is in a limited access room but people do come and go from there. The room doubles as die storage (this is a screen printing company) so the guys that...
Thanks for the response.
I was running up to date Trend Micro Client/Server Anti virus on this particular machine. It's the first time I've tried TM so it has no track record with me. I usually use Norton or McAfee Corporate.
Thanks again.

Good Day,
Recently one of my Windows 2003 SBS servers crashed. It was not a hardware crash - it was the OS itself. It was a mirrored system and both mirrors went down and were unbootable. I was able to Ghost the data from one the failed drives onto another HD. After reloading the OS as a new...
Good Day,
I have inherited support for a small network where the external and internal domain names are the same. The external domain is hosted off site.
For purposes of illustration the external domain name is diddywap.org and the internal domain name is diddywap.org.
To complicate things...
Good Day,
I'm trying to create a database of FAX numbers that can be shared by all members of the SBS domain and then utilized by the shared FAX service in SBS 2003.
Idealy domain members could add FAX numbers to this database and retrieve FAX numbers from the database while FAXing from their...

Good Day,
Does anyone know of a hack that will shorten the interval that Exchange checks for new mail with its POP3 connector?
I've got it set at the minimum 15 minutes right now and the customer wants a shorter interval.
Thanks,

Good Day,
I have a client who, before I came on board, configured their Windows 2000 local domain name the same as their web page. mydomain.org and mydomain.org as the example.
Things weren't working so well (slow logons, couldn't get to their mail.mydomain.org server, etc.) so I created a...
I must be missing something very basic. Here goes. Excel 97.
I have a formula about as simple as they get; =d5*d6
The problem is that it won't update the final calculation field until I click in the field where the formula result is supposed to go then click on the = by the formula window...
After fooling around with this for awhile I thought I'd try something.
I copied the ntbackup.exe from an NT 4.0 system into my Windows 2000 PC. I put it in a folder called backup. To make things work I also had to copy the file ntctl3d.dll into the same folder. I then set up a .cmd file and...
This is driving me nuts. I cannot get Windows 2000 backup to work. All I have is a single bay, one at a time tape drive and I'd like to make daily backups rotating one set of five tapes. I don't need jukebox capability or multi-location management.
I can't get past the "No unused media...
Is there a quick way to do this? Like hold down the mode button while powering on or something like that? I've got a 2900 I received as a replacement from Cisco. I think it's got some wierd configurations going (defaulted to 10mbps or something, it's VERY slow) and I don't want to go through...
Does anyone know the difference between a Cisco Catalyst 2900XL and a Catalyst 2900?
We have a network strung between two buildings with fiber connectivity between two Cisco 2900 switches. Both used to be 2900XL's. One of the switches went down and Cisco sent us a replacement but it is only a...
The spoolss.dll file from Me will work with a Windows 98 OS. It's just a newer version. It will not work with a Windows 95 OS however.
Use the sfc utility to find and replace the file. Download spoolss.dll from the link in my earlier post.
