I have a computer which was upgraded recently from XP Home to XP Pro. The upgrade went sucessfully with no problems. I have added the user and computer using the respective wizards from the Server Management in SBS 2003. However, when I try to connectcomputer on the XP Pro workstation it...

Applying Computer settings taking too long!

Hello, I have an SBS 2003 environment where there are 3 XP Pro PC's. One of them is a T43 Lenovo Thinkpad which for some reason takes better part of 2 minutes during the boot into XP Pro on the "Applying Computer Settings" before it gives me the prompt to login. When Booting into XP I enabled...

Hello, I am using SBS 2003 with Exchange 2003 and Windows server 2003. I have configured a smart host to send my email out via comcast at smtp.comcast.net which seems to be working, albeit slowly. My problem/question is that one user's email is also forwarded to an outside mail server outside...

Is it possible to avoid the dynamic IP sorbs.net trap?

One other question related to this. I also am forwarding all of my email to another server outside of my network. It seems that that is causing email to be queued up in my smtp connector and then eventually the original sender is receiving an NDR that states: This is an automatically generated...

    Blackberry Enterprise Equivalents

I had a SCH-I730 from Verizon Wireless and found it very frustrating to have to pull-sync the contents of my Exchange mailbox. I was using a hosted exchange service at the time, but it did not work as expected and was very cumbersome to get working fully. My blackberry service is not flawless...

Pull up the Server Management from SBS 2003 (log in as administrator and it should come up automatically). Good thing is that we only have a few employees. When the company grows we will get behind a fixed IP ISP service. Thanks for the heads up.

I added the comcast smtp server to the small business smtp connector which then added it to the smtp virtual server. Worked like a charm. Thanks!

Is it possible to avoid the dynamic IP sorbs.net trap?

Thanks for the reply. I set up the ip of a smart host in the default smtp server and restarted the routing engine however this did not work. Do I need to create a new virtual smtp server? Is there a post of kb article which describes this in detail? Thanks!

Is it possible to avoid the dynamic IP sorbs.net trap?

I have installed an exchange 2003 server running on an SBS 2003 server behind a comcast.net cable modem service which dynamically assigns an ip address to my firewall/router. The IP address has not changed at all in the past 6 months of owning this connection, but in case it does I have a...

Master Browser not working after installing first 2003 DC

What makes it multi-homed is having two IP addresses to the same 2003 server that is running DNS. Once I teamed the NICS or disabled one of the two NIC's, my Computer Browser started working flawlessly. Hope that helps. Richard

Master Browser not working after installing first 2003 DC

I think you are right on the multi-homed problem. Yes all of the workstations are joined to the 2003 domain, and we are operating on a single domain. The domain name is different fromt the Netbios domain name as well. Not sure how I can change this. Thanks.
