I have been using an old 14 inch Compaq P50 monitor for years with no problems. Just recently, for about 5 mins after I turn it on, I get no red on the screen, that is, the picture looks very blue, and where there should be red, its just black. I though at first it was a connection issue, but...
Im guessing that its a Divx file, if so then join the long list of users who have problems with these with XP...
You can't really blame Micro$oft. Because the Divx format is not an "Officially recognised" format, and is still in development, you cant expect them to try and keep up...
I know of systems that are prone to this kind of phenomonon, i dont know if its hardware related..., if you have an XP installation disk then do a system repair, it usually does the trick.....
CD burning programs can sometimes cause this.. (CloneCD does...)

Under System/Advanced there is an option NOT to use a page file. If I upgrade my RAM to a ridiculus amount, say 1.5 GB (my mobo limit), would I see a big difference speed-wise?
After installing (and uninstalling) CloneCD, XP refuses to automatically recognise Media CDs containing Video or Audio files, also it refuses to recognise blank CDRs. I,ve tried Right-clicking on the drive and changing the options under autoplay, but no joy... help please :)
The Motherboard is a new VIA K7VZA, the Maxtor is there because I was given it (2GB might come in handy)... If it causing that much of a problem i could trash it no prob...
I have a Maxtor 2GB (PIO4 according to boot screen), slaved to a Fujitsu ATA100 20GB HDD. I have read articles about the slave device slowing the performance of the master, is the Maxtor affecting my Fujitsu in any way?
